Brigadier General Gary T. Magonigle is the assistant adjutant general also serving as commander of the Washington Air National Guard. He is responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, plans, and programs affecting the members of the Air National Guard in the state of Washington.
General Magonigle received his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corp in 1976 and began his active duty career in 1977. His operational experience includes positions held as Chief of Standardization/Evaluation, Flying Squadron Operations Officer and Chief of Wing Plans and Programs and Operations Group Commander. He voluntarily deployed for Desert Shield and Desert Storm and was stationed at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He also deployed to Budapest, Hungary, and served as Operations Group Deputy Commander in support of Operation Allied Force. The general assumed his current position in February 2007. He is a command pilot with over 4,500 hours in the T-33, F-101, F-106, KC-135A/E, C-12J and C-26.
