The group, which was comprised of airmen from throughout the 141st Air Refueling Wing, including the 141st Civil Engineer Squadron. The airmen drove across the state, setting up tents and base camps in five different locations.

We set up a 55-person base camp at Ahtanum Creek, Spruce Dome, Rex Creek, and this here is our fourth, said LTC Bob Aunan, the task force commander, as he watched his troops set up the last of seven tents at the Virginia Lake fire in Okanogan. After this one, well go up to Tonasket and set up another tent, and then we should be finished for now.

The unit set up tents, cots and Tactical Operations Centers for the National Guard contingents at the fires, which include soldiers from the 81st Infantry Brigade, the 66th Aviation Brigade and the 96 Troop Command.
